4 star rating 'A diamond in the rough' describes the Rancho Sonora Inn & RV Park. From the moment we drove in and parked outside the colorful Southwest garden court yard and beckoning fountain made our way to the office we knew this would be a special resting spot. While writing this review from the front porch of casita Juanita we hear birds chirping and watch a dove build a nest. We found much to do off the property. We walked to the Greek evolving Ag farm. Saw many citrus trees, olives and native plants. We spent an afternoon at the beautiful and hospitable St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Monastery which is comprised of acres and acres of beautiful multi-colored brick chapels and monastery buildings, citrus and olive groves. The non agricultural portion of the property is planted with either native plants and palm trees interspersed with soothing fountains. Call or check the web for hours and dress restrictions. Florence isn't far from Globe AZ and ancestral Indian site. There is a large arboretum on the way 20 or so miles out of Florence.
Casita Juanita has one large bedroom with bath and a small bedroom with a bathroom around the corner. Kitchen and eating area and connecting large living room fill out the unit. We stayed in March when the temperature was in the mid 70's with morning and afternoon breezes.

Our first visit to Rancho Sonora RV Park was supposed to be for a month. We stayed for THREE!! We fell in love with the area, the people, and the park! The new owner is really cleaning and improving Rancho Sonora-- fixed the heated pool, added a couple of small game areas: Frisbee golf course, cornhole, putting green, horseshoes, chipping green, along with the small library room and great clubhouse that was already there. We love it and plan to return for many more years! (Update: We still LOVE the park, even though it has different owners again. There have been some changes. The office hours are M-S 8-1, Sun- closed. This has been inconvenient for us long timers, as well as new people coming through. There are lots of rumors about future changes. Our fingers are crossed that those changes won’t ruin the cozy “small town” feel. Stay tuned!)
